Support for the Season Nobody Warned You About.

Postpartum isn’t just about the baby—it’s about the profound transformation of the mother. Find your footing, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild your identity in a safe, judgment-free space.

What You're Experiencing is Valid

The transition to motherhood is a physiological and psychological earthquake. If you’re feeling any of these, you are not broken—you are adapting.

Overwhelming Sadness

Finding yourself crying without a clear reason, feeling a deep sense of grief for your past life, or struggling to feel the joy you expected.

High-Functioning Anxiety

Constantly checking the monitor, intrusive thoughts about safety, or feeling like your nervous system is permanently stuck in 'fight or flight' mode.

Feeling Disconnected

Struggling to bond with your baby instantly, feeling distant from your partner, or feeling like a stranger in your own changing body.

Profound Exhaustion

A bone-deep fatigue that sleep doesn't seem to fix, accompanied by the mental load of managing a household and a newborn's schedule.

Loss of Identity

Wondering "who am I now?", mourning your career or independence, and struggling to merge your pre-baby self with your new role as a mother.

You don't have to navigate this alone.

Meet Your Coach

Practical Support forReal Motherhood

Hi, I’m Melissa. I believe that while the postpartum period is universally challenging, your suffering doesn’t have to be a given.

My coaching approach bridges the gap between therapy and everyday survival. We don’t just talk about how hard it is—we actively work on rebuilding your capacity to handle it.

I combine somatic practices, nervous system regulation, and identity-rebuilding frameworks to help you find stable ground in the shifting landscape of early motherhood.

What We Actually Do Together

Coaching is action-oriented. Here are the specific tools and frameworks we’ll use to help you navigate this transition.

Nervous System Regulation

When you're constantly hyper-vigilant, your body is in fight-or-flight. We practice somatic tools to signal safety to your body, helping you down-regulate and actually rest when you have the chance.

Identity Reconstruction

Matrescence is the developmental transition to motherhood. We actively map the shift from your maiden self to your mother self, honoring what is lost and discovering what is gained.

Communication & Partnership

The arrival of a baby stress-tests even the strongest relationships. We develop scripts and strategies for communicating needs, invisible labor, and resentment without starting a fight.

Mental load distribution tools

Conflict de-escalation scripts

Expectation Management

Dismantling the myth of the "perfect mother" and the toxic positivity of "enjoy every moment." We create realistic benchmarks for success in your unique family dynamic.

Our Approach

Melissa is a postpartum coach with a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, a certification in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International, and fifteen years of experience in the mental health field. She also has firsthand experience with postpartum struggles, which means she is not working from a textbook. She is working from real knowledge, both professional and personal, about what this season actually feels like from the inside.

Warm & Direct Sessions

Sessions are warm and direct. There is no clinical distance here, no performance required, and no expectation that you walk in composed and organized. You can bring the messy version of where you are. Melissa will call things what they are, hold you accountable in the kindest way, and always meet you exactly where you are, not where you think you should be by now.

Forward-Moving Focus

This is coaching, not therapy. The focus is forward-moving. What do you need right now, and how do you get there? That is the work.

Who This Is For

This postpartum coaching is for you if:

You are in the weeks or months after having a baby and you are not okay

You feel like you lost yourself when you became a mother and you do not know how to find your way back

You look fine from the outside and are barely holding it together on the inside

You are managing postpartum anxiety and it is affecting your daily life and relationships

You are going through the motions of daily life but not feeling present inside any of it

You want real tools and real support, not just someone telling you it gets better

What You'll Gain

By the end of your work together, you can expect to:

Feel more grounded and less like you are one small thing away from completely falling apart

Have practical tools for nervous system regulation that work in real daily life, not just in theory

Know your postpartum anxiety well enough to manage it without being consumed by it

Reconnect with who you are outside of being someone's mother

Feel less guilt and more realistic grace toward yourself and what you are carrying

Have a clearer sense of what you need and the actual ability to ask for it

Move through the rest of the postpartum period with support behind you instead of doing it alone

Frequently Asked Questions

Is postpartum coaching the same as postpartum therapy?

No. Postpartum coaching is not therapy. Therapy is designed to treat clinical mental health conditions and process past experiences. Coaching is forward-focused, practical support, tools, and strategies for where you are right now. Melissa's background in therapy means she brings clinical depth to her coaching, but the format and focus are different from a therapy relationship.

How soon after having a baby can I start coaching?

There is no required timeline. Some moms start in the first few weeks postpartum. Others reach out months later when they realize they are still not feeling like themselves. Wherever you are in the postpartum period, support is available.

What if I think I need therapy instead of coaching?

If you are in crisis or dealing with severe postpartum depression or anxiety, Melissa will always point you toward the right level of care. She is happy to have that conversation honestly and without any pressure to work with her if therapy is the better fit.

Does coaching happen in person or online?

All sessions are held virtually. You can access support from wherever you are, your couch during nap time, your car in the driveway, anywhere you can get sixty minutes of quiet. No commute, no childcare to arrange, no waiting room.
